While seeing a pachinko machine in Japan is nothing strange, many American casinos also feature this pinball-inspired game. Aside from the traditional parlors where pachinko can be played, there are also online casinos that let players play balls and win balls in their own convenience.
The word "pachinko" is said to have originated from "pachi-pachi", a Japanese word that refers to the snapping of fire or crackling of little objects. Although the very origins of the game is not determined, there is a big chance that the "Coringth Game" of Chicago in the United States of America became the inspiration of pachinko.
Six decades after the first appearance of pachinko machines in Japan, the model of today's machines is attributed to Takeichi Masamura who made the arrangement of slots known as "Masamura Gauge".
